The Environmental Law Center
The Environmental Law Center is an independent think tank and advisory body which specialises in environmental law. EU enlargement is one of the priority areas of activity, with special consideration given to the implementation of environmental acquis into Polish environmental law.
Institute for Sustainable Development
The Institute for Sustainable Development is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organisation, whose main target of activity is the implementation and dissemination of Sustainable Development concept in Poland. It focuses on economic, legal, social and political issues in connection with environmental protection. It collaborates with Polish parliament, with state administration as well as local governments and non-governmental ecological movements.
Gaja Klub
Klub Gaja is an independent, non-profit making, non-governmental organisation founded in 1988 which focuses on ecological and cultural issues. Network building, publication of literature in Polish and English, leading workshops, creation of high profile events, lobbying, use of theatre, exhibitions, working with scientists, politicians, national and local governments, non-governmental organisations, interested individuals and the media, are all methods of their work.
The Foundation for Environmental Education and Development
Three associations dealing with environmental protection and education founded the Foundation for Environmental Education and Development in February 2003. In the foundation, there are trained educators, well-known specialists and experienced campaigners. The mission of FEER is the dissemination of environmental lifestyle, promoting the idea of sustainable development and raising the public awareness towards the environmental issues.

Czech Republic
GAIA
The civic association GAIA is an independent and non-political institution, concerned with the conservation of nature and landscape, seeking new forms of human communication in environmental protection and education. It welcomes adults and children, people of all age groups and professions. GAIA participates in several international and social networks, cooperating in the exchange of information.
Healthy Cities of the Czech Republic (HCCZ)
Healthy Cities of the Czech Republic (HCCZ) is a national association of active cities, towns and regions in the Czech Republic that are implementing the Healthy Cities Project, an international initiative under the auspices of the World Health Organization (WHO). HCCZ pursues long-term health and sustainable development. In addition, membership in the association is open to all types of municipalities in the Czech Republic.
Hungary
Ökotárs Alapítvány (Hungarian Environmental Partnership)
The Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation aims at enhancing the development of an environmentally aware, participatory democratic society by strengthening and supporting the civil environmental movements. The foundation promotes the development of the environmental movement trough providing grants, training, fellowships and technical assistance. The word “partnership“ the role that the Environmental Partnership plays in building bridges of cooperation between people and organizations and across sectors to build civil societies and sustainable communities in Central Europe.
Autonómia Alapítvány

Autonómia Alapítvány (AA) was founded in 1990, at the beginning of Hungary's transition to democracy. Its mission has been to contribute to the emergence and support of the non-profit sector, through a number of different programs, with a special focus on the Roma community. AA has been the only private foundation in Hungary to fund over 500 subsistence and development projects of Roma people, a community confronted with widespread discrimination and poverty.

The Slovak Environmental Agency
The Slovak Environmental Agency is a scientific organisation operating on the territory of the whole Slovakia. It mainly focuses on the environmental protection, environmental policy development and landscape creation based on the principles of Sustainable Development.
Society for Sustainable Living
The Society for Sustainable Living was established in 1993 in Bratislava, as a voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organisation. The Society includes professional ecologists, geographers, philosophers, physicians, lawyers, sociologists, economists, educators, and other environmentally oriented specialists, as well as artists and journalists. The Society in the Slovak Republic includes about 100 leading Slovak activists and is open to similar personalities from other countries. The goal is to achieve the ideals of humanism and harmony between man and nature. Activities of SSL/SR are based on the philosophy of respecting life in all its forms and on the sense of responsibility for contemporary, as well as future generations.
Ekopolis
The Ekopolis Foundation has been supporting the development of civic society and environmental sustainability for 14 years so far. It supports projects and the operation of hundreds of non-governmental organisations - flexibly, without detailed bureaucracy and in accordance with the contemporary needs. Open grant programs are their main tool. Their vision is an advanced civic society with citizens realizing their responsibility for societal development and environmental issues.

Estonia
Association of Estonian Cities
The Association of Estonian Cities (AEC) is a voluntary union established for representing the common interests and arranging cooperation of cities and rural municipalities. Ensuring development of local governments through joint activities is the main goal of the AEC. The AEC was established on 19 September 1920. At present, all the cities, including the capital Tallinn, and some rural municipalities are the members of the AEC.
Estonian Green Movement
Estonian Green Movement is a non-governmental, non-profit environmental organisation. It was founded in 1988 and rapidly developed into a nationwide grassroots organisation. Subsequently, it earned credit as a leader in the Estonian independence movement. In its activities the Estonian Green Movement is backed by nation-wide active network of some 600 individual members.
Ministry of the environment
The mission of the Ministry of the Environment is to create such preconditions for Estonia’s development that guarantee the preservation of the natural biodiversity and clean environment and ensure that natural resources are used economically. Its task is to organise and coordinate environmental policy. While the centre of the Ministry is located in Tallinn, the environmental authorities are present in 15 counties. Established on 21 December 1989, the Ministry of the Environment as an institution is relatively new.
Estonian Fund for Nature
Estonian Fund for Nature is a non-profit organisation. Its Mission is to preserve the rich natural diversity in Estonia and the world through active cooperation with individuals, business enterprises, organisations and state institutions. ELF was established in 1991 by biologists and conservationists and in close co-operation with WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). WWF has remained ELF's main international co-operation partner.
Kihnu Strait Marine Park Foundation
It is a project of promotion of local sustainable development in Pärnu county West-Estonia. Their main targets are supporting local population to remain vital and preserve cultural and natural values of the region.
Peipsi Centre for Transboundary Cooperation
Peipsi CTC organises capacity building trainings for different stakeholder groups on environmental education, fundraising, project management and public relations. Peipsi CTC provides project management support to implement water management projects on Lake Peipsi. It has 10 years experience in development of cross-border interaction mechanisms and facilitation of cross-border cooperation in the Estonian – Russian border area.
Stockholm Environment Institute Tallin
The Stockholm Environment Institute Tallinn Center (SEI-Tallinn) is a non-governmental, non-profit foundation, founded in 1992. Its mission is to direct the decision-making on community development and on environment towards balance and sustainability. To achieve these objectives, SEI-Tallinn established three programme areas at the end of 2002: 1. Climate, Energy and Atmosphere, 2. Environmental Management and 3. Sustainability Measures. SEI-Tallinn does applied research, consults international organizations, governments and private organizations in the areas of the community development and environment. It operates on project basis.
Latvia
Agenda 21 Riga City Environment Centre
In 1998-1999 a joint project between the Riga City and the City of Norrkoping (Sweden) was implemented. The main goals were to develop the City of Riga Environmental Strategy up to 2010 and to establish the city environmental centre “Agenda 21”. In the result they developed a strategy and the Riga City Environment Centre “Agenda 21” started its work in January 2000. Their main activities are Supervision over the implementation of the Action Programme of the City of Riga Environmental Strategy (2002-2010), Development of a single environmental data and information system, Public information and International cooperation.

Local Authorities in Lithuania
Local Authorities in Lithuania is a non-profit organization and represents the common interests of its members. The mission is to implement the essential rights of independence and development of local self-government, by influencing decisions taken by national government and international institutions.
The Lithuanian Green Movement (LGM)
The Lithuanian Green Movement (LGM) was established by national environmental groups and activists in 1988. LGM coordinates the activities and exchanges information between some 500 members. As the first post-Soviet environmental NGO in Lithuania, LGM played a significant role in the democratization process and in raising public awareness and participation on environmental issues in Lithuania. Today, LGM is one of the country's most active environmental NGOs, with the main strategies of influencing public policy, increasing public participation and raising public awareness about environment protection and sustainable development.
Environmental Centre for Administration and Technology
The Environmental Centre for Administration and Technology (ECAT-Lithuania) was founded as a non-governmental organisation in 1997 by the European Commission in cooperation with the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment. His goal is to support, promote and strengthen the environmental activities in Lithuanian municipalities and local communities by providing consultations, training, information, project development and management services on a number of environmental questions. ECAT-Lithuania also works on Local Agenda 21, sustainable development and EU accession issues.
The Lithuanian Fund for Nature
The Lithuanian Fund for Nature (Lietuvos gamtos fondas, LGF) is a non-governmental nature conservation organisation that aims to encourage and support nature protection and the sustainable development of Lithuania. Established in 1991, the LGF became the first non-governmental environmental organisation and has since operated over 25 projects. It was established as a charity organisation by 30 nature conservation specialists, non-governmental organisations and business representatives.
